Recent and Upcoming Psychotherapy and Cognitive Therapy Conferences

June 2-5, 2011
The Turkish Association for Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapies (TACBP) is very proud and happy to host the 7th ICCP
Congress in Istanbul, the only city in the world that stretches onto two continents.
The magnificent city of Istanbul expands on Europe and Asia connecting the east with the west and has been the venue for Roman,
Byzantine and Ottoman Empires. That is why Istanbul will be rewarding in different ways by offering history, culture, sights, sounds,
tastes and smells that will carry you swiftly to another culture and another time.
The TACBP will deliver a high quality congress which hopefuly will turn out to be a memorable event both scientifically and socially.
As we believe that the scientific success of a congress depends on the
contribution of the delegates, we hope that many of you will be able to get actively involved in the congress. The programme will
cover all areas of behavioural and cognitive therapies including innovative and controversial developments and will certainly give
emphasis on child and adolescent psychology.
The theme of the congress reflects the central motive of the event that is to establish closer links between science (evidence based
psychotherapies) and daily practice.
We have no doubt that the Turkish hospitality, the charm of Istanbul and the fine scientific programme will make the difference
between an ordinary congress and a truly memorable experience.
We look forward to seeing you in Istanbul to establish closer, social and professional links between colleagues from all over the
world. Let's hope to meet in Istanbul in June 2011 in the city where east meets the west.
Cordial Regards
Mehmet Sungur

Members of the IACP,
As many of you will know, the next International Congress of Cognitive Psychotherapy (ICCP) will take place in Istanbul, Turkey
from June 2- 5, 2011. The venue of the Congress, Istanbul, was chosen as the European Capital of Culture 2010 and is the only
city in the world that stretches between two continents. Istanbul has been the crucible for Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman Empires.
It is a wonderful city to visit, and offers rewards in different ways, including history, culture, sights, and its many and varied sounds
and tastes. Istanbul is also a great jump-off ppoint for other visits in Turkey. The theme of the Congress, `Clinical Science', reflects
the central motive of the event, which is to establish closer links between science (evidence based psychotherapies) and daily
practice. The list of the invited keynote speakers and workshop leaders can be found on the conference's website, at www.
iccp2011.com.
Dr. Mehmet Sungur , President of the organizing committee, has informed the Board of IACP that they will offer a discount for IACP
members is 24% for registration and 31% for workshops. Other discounts are also made for precongress and incongress
workshops. If this conference is of interest to you, please be sure to take advantage of these kind offers.
Best wishes,
Keith Dobson , Ph.D.
