The International Association for Cognitive Psychotherapy

The International Association for Cognitive Psychotherapy (IACP) is a
professional, scientific, interdisciplinary organization whose mission is
to facilitate the utilization and growth of cognitive psychotherapy as a
professional activity and scientific discipline. In addition, the Association
serves as a resource and information center for matters related to
cognitive psychotherapy.

The Honorary President of the Association is Aaron T. Beck, M.D.,
University Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at the University of
Pennsylvania, and President of the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy
and Research in suburban Philadelphia.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership in the IACP is open, but not limited to professionals and
students in disciplines such as psychology, psychiatry, social work,
medicine, nursing, dentistry, rehabilitation, guidance, pastoral
counseling, general medical practice, counseling and education. The
three classes of membership are Full Voting Membership, based on the
completion of the appropriate professional degree designated for
practice in one's specialty, National Membership, open to national
associations as a group, and Student Membership, available to
individuals enrolled in a program of study leading to a professional

Discounts (click on Membership link above for more information)
Members receive significant discounts on conferences hosted by the
IACP (more than covering the cost membership annually if attending at
least one conference), car rentals through Avis and Hertz, and book and
journal discounts from select publishers, such as Elsevier, Springer,
American Psychiatric Publishing, and Routledge.


MEMBERS ONLY ACCESS
If you would like access to the members only section of the IACP website
you must be a paid member of the association.
If you are not a member, you can apply for membership
here.

Once you have submitted your application, your account will be activated
within two weeks. If you are not able to access the members page more
than two weeks after registering, email the membership coordinator.

DUES
Membership dues in IACP for 2005 are $65.00 (US $). Membership dues
are payable in U.S. dollars, or through VISA or MASTERCARD.

Online Audio Workshops
We have assembled workshops from leading clinicians in cognitive
therapy from around the world. This project is part of our ongoing
commitment to provide resources and training that reflect the latest
advances in the field. Membership in the IACP entitles you access to 5
free downloads. A list of current workshops can be found
here.


CREDENTIALING
Certification in cognitive therapy is administered by the Academy of
Cognitive Therapy. A brief description can be found

CONGRESSES
IACP sponsors international and regional conferences.

Previous congresses have been held in Umea, Sweden (1986), Oxford,
England (1989), Toronto, Canada (1992), Copenhagen, Denmark (1995),
Acapulco, Mexico (1998), Catania, Italy (2000), Vancouver, Canada
(2001), Kobe, Japan (2004), Gothenberg, Sweden, (2005),
 Barcelona,
Spain (2007), and most recently the International Congress of Cognitive
Therapy  held in Rome, Italy. For more information about ICCP 2008,
